This just in from my friend Ish Theilheimer over at Straight Goods:

The window is closing fast on your opportunity to secure a food safety commitment from the person who will be your MP.

I’m writing on behalf of our partners with the Food Safety First campaign. With less than one week before election day, it’s urgent that you visit www.foodsafetyfirst.ca to send a message asking the candidates in your riding to make a commitment for safer food and get as many of your neighbours as possible to do as well.

The campaign has received more than 3000 messages, but many more are needed to make sure there is a large contingent of MPs in the new Parliament who are ready to champion improvements to our food safety system.

So if you haven’t sent a message yet, please visit www.foodsafetyfirst.ca right now. You will be making a huge difference and it will take only a few minutes of your time.

If you have sent a message, thank you. If you’re ready, there is something else you can do.

Please invite your friends, relatives and colleagues to take action for food safety. Simply cut and paste the text below this message into your own email program.

Also, if you’ve received a reply from any of your candidates, please send it to the Food Safety First campaign HQ at jim@foodsafetyfirst.ca.  They’re tracking candidate responses so they can hold newly elected MPs to their word when they come to Ottawa.

Thanks for your support for Food Safety.
